Francisco Cerúndolo advanced to the final of the Argentina Open 2025 by defeating Pedro Martínez. The Argentine won with a scoreline of 6-2 and 6-4, after surprising everyone by eliminating favorite Alexander Zverev. Cerúndolo will face Joao Fonseca in the final, a young Brazilian who defeated Laslo Djere.

Cerúndolo, known for his power from the baseline and lethal forehand, will play the final against Fonseca on the Guillermo Vilas Court of the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club. Fonseca, only 18 years old, managed to beat Djere by 7-6 (3), 5-7 and 6-1 to reach the final and become the second youngest finalist in the tournament's history, only behind Argentine José Acasuso.

In the doubles final, the pair formed by Guido Andreozzi and Theo Arribage qualified for the final after defeating Alexander Erler and Constantin Frantzen. Andreozzi and Arribage will face the Brazilians Rafael Matos and Marcelo Melo in the final. Cerúndolo also showcased his serving dominance, with 8 aces and a 72% first serve percentage, managing to save all 8 break points he faced.

The match was close in the first two sets, with Fonseca winning the first in a tiebreak and Djere leveling in the second. However, in the third set, Fonseca dominated from start to finish to seal his place in the final. For his part, Cerúndolo will seek his first title at the Argentina Open after being a finalist in 2022.
